Obviously I talk a lot here about cars, driving, and other worldly goals. That is a lot of fun but I try to make it as clear as possible that it is not what is most important. I am a Christian and God is what comes first in my life. A. W. Tozer is best known for his quote that “What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.” I agree with this and it should be what defines us.
What I mean to say here is that I know that a lot of my friends and people who I encounter on a daily basis do not understand what Christianity means or what I mean when I say the Gospel or the “Good New of Jesus Christ.” I want to make myself available for those questions and conversations.
1 Peter 3:15 says – “But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,”
If you have any questions about any of that, please feel free to ask. Email me or find some other way to reach me. You won’t find judgment and you certainly won’t find all of the answers but I will be more than happy to work with you to find them. We live in a world that asks us to keep these thoughts and beliefs to ourselves. That has led to many people having no exposure to the ideas of Christianity and spirituality.
Fortunately most of the answers are simple and the conversation is easy. None of us are perfect and I want to do my part to dispel the perception that Christianity is a checklist proposition. The greater calling is to show what a relationship with God looks like and how that can change your life. I am happy to return to your regularly scheduled programming of cars, records, and the fun things this world has to offer but I am always remiss when I do not make this priority in my life clear.
Galatians 2:20 – “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
