Caffeine & Octane: March 2012

The March turnout at Caffeine & Octane was awesome. The weather was much better than February and there were some awesome cars in attendance. They included the Matte White Lamborghini Aventador that we sold recently, a 2010 Gallardo Valentino Balboni, a variety of other Gallardos, a couple of Murcielago LP640’s, the Porsche Carrera GT we sold a few months ago, a V12 Vantage, and a great variety of other Astons and Lotuses. The volume of cars overflowed the parking lot in every direction. We had an absolute blast. Great to see everyone. See you in April!

The venue has become too hectic with no organization at all. None of the rules are enforced such as “only park is a designated space”. It’s great that it has become such a big event, but only let the number of cars in that there are spaces for. It was so crowed with cars parked in the isles there was barely enough room to walk with all of the people and strollers. I wonder how many cars got scratched. I’m a car enthusiast and have been since I was a little kid, but the thing that is junking up the show are the car clubs showing up. Does anyone really car about 12 new Camaro SS cars that are completely stock? Same for the Minis, M3’s, etc, etc. I saw so may cool hot rods that couldn’t even get into the lot that belonged in there while the car clubs took up too many spots. I’ll be looking for more venues like Po Boys in Canton where they actually put on something worth seeing and I don’t have to worry about some soccer mom scratching my ride with her stoller because the place is over crowded.

Really you just said that! Who cares if a car is stock or not. Who cares what kind of car it is. Lot of those people that show up feel the same way u do about cars. I think its pretty damn cool that a family can come out with their kids and look at all kinds of cool cars that they only see on tv or maganizes. If u want your own personal car show then u set it up with your rules. I know for sure that I will not be there!!

The show has definitely gotten big but it is still a lot of fun. The overflow area of that lot is not terribly convenient and it became impossible to get out through the Eastern exit towards the end of the show but I think that it needs to remain casual. If you want a good spot, you will have to get there early and that has been the case with every Cars and Coffee gathering in the country. As long as everyone stays respectful, I think it will continue to work.

The lack of organization is the attraction for me. There are plenty of concours available all over, but this celebration is out of this world. I doesnt matter which car I bring there is always someone who wants to talk about it. If I were running it I would not let anyone reserve a spot. Park where you can & next to whatever is there.

Exactly. It is a great place to see all kinds of cars. Everyone needs to be careful and watch out for all of the cars but it needs to be a casual atmosphere where car guys can congregate.

Personally, I would get a 2008 Infiniti G35 Journey or the G35x.Infiniti is discounting these to the max right now and it would be my ccoihe over the TSX or the Maxima. The 2 you mentioned are also great cars. It is all about personal preference. Go with the one you like better.

I think a lot of people bring there car to have a good time with other car guys, As for the lambo and Ferrari guys its not a wallet contest where some d bags show off how much money of there daddies they make. A car show is for people to see cars they enjoy and if its a stock camaro so be it,
At least were not trying to make everyone feel inferior!!! I have recently seen a stock 30th anniversary camaro, 2 of them actually and that was super rare to preserve a piece of American history like that, Also i think there were 17 lambos and Ferrari there so it is like an average day in buckhead, Not very rare!
