RM Sotheby’s at Amelia Island: 2016 Results
There were some incredible cars at the Amelia Island concours this year and some amazing opportunities to add something to the garage at the RM Auction. Here is a link to their sold lots.
A few definite highlights were a 97 993 Turbo S that brought $495,000. This is fast becoming the market value for this ultra rare iteration. It should definitely be motivation for people to pay whatever it takes to snatch up the similarly rare 08-09 GT2s.
Just a year after selling a manual transmission 599 for $682,000 at the same auction, RM Sotheby’s sold a manual 575M for $462,000.
The market is demonstrating that ultra rare manual versions of popular Italian and German sportscars are commanding massive premiums. This bodes well for the Manual Murcielago, LP640s, and Gallardo markets.
Another definite gem of the sale was this 1985 Ferrari 288GTO. 1 of 272 built, this is the rarest of the Ferrari supercars.
It was a great sale and excellent indicator of the health of the collector car market.
