I found the window sticker for my first car

Over the past few weeks I have been thinking a lot about all of the cars that I have pursued, bought, sold, and enjoyed. One of my favorite parts of this site was building the list of cars that I have owned and including the identifying information so that future owners could find me.

My father bought this car on October 15, 1994. Land Rover had just begun importing the Discovery to the US and he got one of the first ones. When I turned 16, seven years later, it became mine.

It was Coniston Green with a Bahama beige interior. The VIN is SALJY1241SA117370It had the rear jump seats, 2 sunroofs, a brush guard, and more. It was almost never clean, an ownership habit I have yet to break, but I loved it. He bought it from Land Rover North Point where 20 years later I would buy another new Land Rover.

Like any first car, it had its share of accidents:

I have not been able to locate any photos of it but it generally looked exactly like this:

DSCN9983 Rover Garage

And very frequently like this:

Brilliant car that eventually developed a tractor like knock and was put out to pasture. Many Rovers have and will continue to follow.
