Periodically we are given press cars to use for events, shows, and activities. Last year I had a 2010 Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera press car in gorgeous pearl yellow that I drove for about 6 months and 2,500 miles. It was a phenomenal car that has since been crashed unfortunately.

A few weeks ago, we received another press car. It is a 2011 LP570-4 Performante in Grigio Telesto. During the time that we have had it here, I have driven the car approximately 500 miles and enjoyed every second of it. We took it down to the 2012 AJC Atlanta International Auto Show, I drove it our on our Quarterly Mountain Drive, I took it to an event at Roche Bobois, and several other places.

To be honest, I am usually more of a coupe guy. I don’t fit well in the convertibles with the top up so I drove this car most of the time with the top down. I really enjoyed it a lot more than I expected to. The car impressed me in just about every situation imaginable.

The composure when driven hard was phenomenal, the stability at high speed was exceptional, and the ease of operation around town and in daily use was poised and polished. The Performante really demonstrates what awesome strides Lamborghini has been able to make in the Gallardo platform over the course of the last decade. Today we have a car that you can truly do anything that you want with. I will definitely miss it.
